HABILITATION & FAMILY SUPPORT TRAINING FOR THE UNPAID CAREGIVER
Establishing Healthy Change
Services for Habilitation will consist of working with children and youth in regards to improving his/her level of functioning, quality of life, social skills, and strengths. Provider will work with individuals in regards to identifying feelings, managing emotions, healthy communication, decision making, turning peer pressure into pro-social skills, integrate positive coping skills, and acquire appropriate interactions with adults & peers. Provider will utilize the community and client’s home in regards to learning and practicing skills.

Family Support Training consists of the provider ensuring positive and consistent support for caregivers. Provider will work with caregivers in regards to incorporating a healthy lifestyle, practical living & decision-making skills, child development and parenting, home management skills, and utilizing appropriate resources in the community for continued positive growth and natural supports. Provider will demonstrate skills for conflict resolution, and coping skills. Caregivers will have the opportunity to be educated on the understanding of mental health and positive de-escalation skills.

INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY THERAPY
Quality Self Care & Love
Howard Health will provide therapeutic services within the home/community of the client. The therapist will conduct an appropriate treatment plan and assessment to acquire appropriate goals and diagnosis of the client. Provider will ensure healthy therapeutic intervention, coping skills, cognitive behavioral therapy, functional family therapy, trauma focused, motivational interviewing, and other approved treatment models which best fit the needs of the individual/family.

A Happier, Healthier You
Casework will be a service provided to individuals in his/her home or community. Casework goals will consist but not be limited to: housing, employment, drug/alcohol treatment resources, employment, and ability to maintain an efficient and healthy lifestyle for the family. Howard Health will utilize appropriate resources to fit client needs/goals.

Mentoring allows youth/adolescents with a one-on-one support to provide daily life skills and support in varying areas throughout one's growth and development helping overcome any barriers/challenges that may be influencing progression
Parent Education utilizes Evidence Based Curriculum to help provide parents/caregivers with materials and skills to create a healthy/successful environment for children (and caregivers) to thrive. Parenting comes with many obstacles, these tools offer several options of styles to best fit a family's need, while assisting in navigating through challenges with the support of others.
SUPERVISED PARENTING TIME
Here For You
Provider will conduct supervised visitations in compliance with the family’s goals/needs. Provider will have parents sign a contract in regards to expectations and guidelines during supervised visitations. Howard Health’s goal of supervised visitations is to promote healthy relationship building, parenting skills, safety of the children, and promote reunification. Provider will ensure a safe environment for visitations, will provide structure and guidance throughout the visitation, and will provide effective feedback for caregivers to improve parenting skills. Provider will have the ability to provide transportation to and from visitations.

KEELIE HOWARD
MS, MA, LMHCA
Founder / CEO
Keelie obtained her Bachelor's in Psychology and Social Justice at Miami University of Ohio. Following, she attended University of Cincinnati to complete her Masters of Science in Criminal Justice. Keelie obtained her second Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. Keelie has served in the social work and criminal justice field in varying positions since 2010. She is a Hoosier native, growing up in Pendleton, IN. She graduated high school from Pendleton Heights and is passionate to serve the community, ensuring families and children have access to mental health services and support. She thrives to create a positive and healthy environment for families, children, and staff. In her personal life, she loves being outside, traveling, and spending time with her husband, son, family & friends.

LINDSAY MICHAELS

Human Resources Manager
Lindsay obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and minored in Youth Ministry at IWU. She has since been servicing families in the mental health field, in a variety of ways, including residential, community, home, and school settings. Lindsay is passionate about helping individuals and families build stronger tomorrows. In her role as HR, she has become passionate about helping educate new staff on the agency and provider role, support current staff, and ensure the agency maintains the highest of reputation in the community. During her free time, she enjoys getting some sunshine, playing with her goldendoodles, and working out.

MELISSA WILSON
LCSW
Clinical Supervisor
Melissa obtained her Masters of Science in Social Work through the University of Louisville in 2012. She obtained her clinical license in 2014. She has over 10 years of experience in working with the child welfare system and has extensive training in working with children, adolescents, and families. Melissa specializes in working with clients who have experienced trauma, and specifically who have been a part of the foster care system or who have been adopted. She has her certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and is a Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys.

KELSEY SHOOK, LSW
Supervisor / Therapist
Kelsey earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from IUPUI in 2020 and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2022. With four years of experience in the mental health field, she is dedicated to supporting children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. Kelsey is committed to meeting families and individuals where they are and assisting them through their challenges. Outside of her professional work, she is a mother to a sweet baby girl and enjoys spending time with family and friends and being outdoors

KALLI BEASLEY
Training Coordinator/ Mental Health Service Provider
Kalli graduated from BSU with a B.S. in Biology. She has a teaching degree and is a Teach for America Alumn who worked with high needs children in Mississippi for two years. She has worked as a case manager and victim's advocate for five years in Muncie Indiana, and worked with Muncie youth in an afterschool program for two years. Her passion is working with and educating families in her home state of Indiana. She has two young children and loves taking them on adventures.

RACHEL BOES
Mental Health Service Provider
Rachel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Psychology with an emphasis in Child Advocacy in 2014 from Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida. Rachel has a passion for children especially those who are considered at risk youth and/or in the foster care system. Rachel also thrives on helping parents learn new parenting skills that are supportive and nurturing for the family. Rachel has over 16 years of experience working with children and families. Prior to her entering the Social Services field, Rachel owned a daycare for 12 years where she provided care to over 50 families. Rachel is also a licensed therapeutic foster parent. Rachel's other passion is animals of all kinds and hopes to have a therapeutic farm when she retires. In her free time, Rachel enjoys being outside, especially hiking, swimming, and exploring parks with her children.

JULIA LAWSON
Mental Health Service Provider
Julia received her Bachelor's degree in Health education and infant and childhood development at Ball State University. Julia has served in the social work field since 2019. She is passionate about the families, and the reunification process. She thrives to create healthy relationships, and that all children receive proper childhood development. In her personal life, she loves working out, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

NORMAN ANDERSON
Mental Health Service Provider
Norman earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. Norman has a passion for assisting children and family. Serving others comes naturally for Norman. With over 15 years of experience working with children and families, Norman has worked in his community and spent tons of hours on different community service projects. He has worked as a Home Based Case Manager for 8 plus years. Norman has also serve as the Head Boys Basketball Coach for a local high school. Norman enjoys traveling, shopping, sports, and spending time with family.

Shelly graduated from Ball State University in 1990 with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.She has worked in Education, Substance Abuse Prevention and Social work for 25 years. Shelly enjoysworking with parents and children on goal setting to strengthen their families. When she is not workingshe enjoys spending time with her family, reading and going to the lake.

CARLIE GROGAN
Therapist
Carlie graduated from Ball State University with a major in Psychology and a minor in criminal justice & criminology and interpersonal relationships in 2021. She has obtained her Master's degree in Psychology and plans to pursue a doctorate degree in Psychology, specializing in adult psychopathology and psychotherapy, with a holistic approach. Carlie's professional aspirations are to become a Clinical Forensic Psychologist.
She is passionate about helping individual's overcome mental health challenges through a holistic approach that underscores resilience and personal growth. In her free time, Carlie enjoys hanging out with friends, watching movies, reading, and spending time with her dog, Whinnie.

PERLA PAZ
Mental Health Service Provider
Perla earned her bachelors at Indiana University Indianapolis in Social Work. She plans on pursuing her masters degree with the hopes of becoming a therapist. Perla enjoys traveling and spending time with her family!

ALEXYSS JACKSON
Therapist
Alexyss obtained a B.A. in Psychology, a B.A. in Criminal Justice, and a minor in Youth Development at Indiana University - Bloomington. From there, she obtained her M.A. of Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in children, adolescent, and family counseling at University of Indianapolis. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at University of Indianapolis. Alexyss has teaching experience with preschool-aged children and
clinical experience with adolescents in a high-acuity residential setting. Alexyss is passionate about serving children/youth, parents, and family units with a history of serious mental illness, conduct problems, issues in attachment, and trauma. She seeks to humanize her clients’ experiences through empathy, compassion, and deep understanding. Alexyss aims to equip clients with the tools, knowledge, and resources to be resilient within their circumstances. Outside of her work, Alexyss enjoys being active, spending time with her rottweiler and boxer, organizing, and watching DIY videos.

SARA KROPCZYNSKI
Therapist / Mental Health Service Provider
Sara obtained her bachelor's degree in Psychology Addictions from Purdue Global University before completing her master's degree in Educational Psychology from Purdue Global University. She worked as a school counselor before transitioning to child and family therapy. Sara is certified in Grief and Loss through the American School Counselor’s Association and is a Certified sexual abuse youth clinician (CSAYC) therapist through the Advocacy and Training Alliance. Sara is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Mental Health Counseling and supervision at American International College. She is passionate about giving a voice to those who can not advocate for themselves, teaching youth to dream big, and helping parents enrich their education and skills. When she is not working or in school, she loves making memories and traveling with her husband and five children.

Khloe Cortrecht holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University and brings years of experience serving as a victim advocate and forensic interviewer for children. Her background reflects a deep commitment to trauma-informed care and supporting individuals through some of their most vulnerable moments. Khloe is currently pursuing her Master’s degree to further expand her work in the mental health field. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and three dogs, who bring balance and joy to her daily routine.

Stefanie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Purdue University Northwest and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work at Indiana Wesleyan University. Passionate about creating safe, supportive, and empowering environments for individuals experiencing mental health challenges or trauma, Stefanie brings empathy and compassion as foundational strengths.
Though new to the field professionally, Stefanie is deeply committed to learning and growing, with a focus on fostering resilience and meaningful change. She is a mother to three busy kids—a son and two bonus daughters, ages 14, 13, and 10. In her free time Stefanie enjoys staying active, attending concerts, and spending quality time with friends and family.

MARITZA SHINGLETON

Director of Services
Maritza has a BS in Criminal Justice from Trine University and is currently working full time on her Masters in Business Administration at Trine. She worked at the Steuben County Prosecutor's Office from 2003-2007, Marion County DCS from 2007-2011, and was the Catering Manager for Paradise Bakery in Carmel, as well as the Catering Manager for Which Wich. She returned to social work in 2015 at Choices Coordinated Care Solutions, became a Guardian ad Litem in 2017. Maritza returned to Choices from 2018 until she joined Howard Health in 2020.

EMILY STEPHENSON

Clinical Assurance Manger
Emily earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Anderson University in 2012, then completed her masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ball State University in 2015. She spent several years in mental health working with a broad population. She has experience in diagnosis, crisis management, and building authentic relationships with clients to facilitate positive change. Emily spent the last several years working in higher education, specifically in academic advising, quality and training, and management and is excited to re-enter the mental health domain. In her free time, she enjoys being on the water and spending time with her husband and young daughter.

KENDALL HOMAN

Director of School-Based Services / Clinical Supervisor / Therapist
Kendall obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from IUPUI in 2018. She completed her master’s degree in social work from IWU in 2021 and is a licensed social worker. She has been working in the mental health field for 6 years. She has a passion for working with young children and teens who have experienced trauma. Her approach is rooted in creating a safe and supportive environment where young clients can express themselves and build resilience. Her humor brings a positive and engaging atmosphere to her work and interactions. In addition to her therapeutic work, Kendall serves as a staff supervisor, providing guidance and support to her colleagues. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her daughter.

KIMBERLY VALENTINE, BS

Kimberly earned her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education Degree in 2012 and earned her Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Degree in 2014.She is a Madison County native and loves serving her community. She has a wide range of experience ranging from working in the child development field to working with families in involved in the child welfare system. She has a strong passion for teens needing guidance and support in all aspects of every day life. She is focused on guiding Howard Health providers on the child welfare systen, mental health, and community resources to assist those in need. Her goal is to create a welcoming environment to assist providers, families and children meet their full potential. She is a mom to active little boy and enjoys spending time with her friends and family. In her free time she likes thrift shopping , vacations, tending to her house plants, camping, and hanging out with her dogs .

TAWNI CROTEAU

Tawni earned her Bachelor's from Capella University in Psychology and is currently working on her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Tawni has 3 years of experience in the mental health field and is dedicated to supporting children and adults who have experienced trauma. Tawni is passionate about providing a supportive environment where clients can feel safe and encouraged. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her children, husband, and friends.

KIMBERLY WATKINS

Kim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family Life. She later obtained a Master of Science in Psychology. Kim has a passion for children and helping others. With over 20 years of experience working with children and families, Kim owned a daycare for several years before starting a career in social services. She has worked as a Family Case Manager and a Care Coordinator providing Wraparound services. She enjoys relaxing and traveling.

Mollie is a student studying Social Work at Ball State University. She has experience working at YMCA’s and volunteers working with children. She loves working with children and has always had a passion for it. She will be attending Ball State University to get her Masters in Social Work as well to do Children’s Therapy. Nicole earned her bachelors from Indiana University in exercise science & kinesiology with minors in psychology & fitness. Before joining Howard Health, Nicole was pursuing her doctorate in occupational therapy but realized the program she was in, just wasn’t for her! Through years of volunteer work, rotations, and nannying she has found a passion for supporting families in a holistic healthy way. In her free time she enjoys going to coffee shops, reading a good book, and cooking for family & friends.

Alyssa graduated from Blackford High School and is currently finishing her Bachelor in Human Services with Family and Youth Administration. She has grown her passion for the field through experience with youth case management in residential settings and overseeing the operations of community non-profits. Alyssa has a passion for serving, empowering, and advocating for the children and families in the communities around her. She is a busy mother of two who enjoys curling up with a good book, spending time outside and traveling in her spare time.

Kevin earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from The Ohio State University in 2023. He has experience working with kids as a camp counselor and through a cognitive development research lab at The Ohio State University. JENNIFER NOURSE

Jennifer obtained her Bachelor's in Social Work and Minor in Psychology from Taylor University. She is currently working on finishing her Master's of Social Work at Indiana Wesleyan University. She grew up in Winona Lake, IN, her whole life, graduating from Warsaw Community High School. Jennifer has always known she wanted to serve children and families and has been driven by her passion to support and advocate for others, with a goal to cultivate healing, safety, and opportunity. She has gained valuable experience through practicum placements and professional roles, including working as a Youth Enrollment Specialist at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana and completing her undergrad practicum at Blackford County Intermediate School and a non-profit, Back2Back. In these roles, she has conducted family assessments, facilitated social-emotional groups for students, and participated in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and mental health referrals. Her early experience as a special education paraprofessional also deepened her commitment to individualized student support and inclusive education. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, gardening, art, and a good cup of coffee.
